Have you ever wondered what Clark Kent’s work-out regimen was?
I mean, sure he is a godly, extra-terrestrial being but the guy has to work out those muscles somehow, right?
What about how Luke Skywalker maintains that upper body strength in preparation for an epic light saber battle, have you wondered about them?
If you’re a nerd slash a geek (like me!) and if you’re looking for a fun and enjoyable way to shed some pounds (because admit it, you have got to detach yourself from that couch you’ve been sitting on for so long!), NerdFitness.com is a perfect fit!
What is this Nerd Fitness program?
Nerd Fitness (NF) is headed by the “rebel leader”, Steve. (Yes, that fabulous man up there in red is Steve.)
So naturally, if you sign up for the “Rebellion”, you are called a rebel. (This is a Star Wars reference in case you didn’t know 😉 )
Feels good to be called a rebel once in a while, doesn’t it?
Steve, the much-respected rebel leader, is on a mission of helping “desk jockeys, nerds, and average Joes” to level up their lives.
By educating the Rebellion on “how to work out properly, cook a decent meal, and consistently improve their health and well-being” while still having those nerd moments, if you know what I mean. 😉
Steve claims that there are a lot of B.S out there about fitness and so they are constantly working to put a stop to it all.
NF features various fascinating content written in a very conversational manner. Some of their popular posts include the Paleo Diet, Body Fat %: What You Need to Know, Beginner Body Weight Workout, and RPG IRL: What’s your Profession.
My personal favorite post is The Deadpool Guide to Self-Love. This is a very inspiring post filled with so much wisdom about self-validation. At times when I feel like I’m just not good enough, frustrated why nothing is working, this is a very good read to keep my spirits up.
Take time to read it and you won’t regret it.
Here is an excerpt to get you clicking on that link:
A lot of us hide who we really are because we think we’re supposed to look different. We feel shame about not looking like the 5% of people depicted as beautiful in the media, and society ain’t helping.
You’ll read a lot of propaganda on the interwebs about why you should look different than you do (often so they can make money) and how to do it by totally wrecking your health (Steve recently wrote about this). When you aim for physical goals aligned with love for who you truly are and the healthiest version of you — rather than needing to look different to be worthy — it can be a truly positive experience. When it’s based in needing to be good enough, however, it almost always leads to disastrous ends.
Whether you’re looking to achieve big physical changes, or going after some status in your career, you cannot shame yourself into positive changes. The energy doesn’t add up. You’ve gotta embrace what you’ve got, even if you plan to change it (in a healthy way).
These are just a few of the geeky and amusing posts uploaded on their site. NF uses a lot of nerdy references but amazingly gets the tough fitness messages across quite effectively.
At the end of the day, Nerd Fitness is a rebellion helping you fight for a better version of yourself.
